Hi all!
I hope you are well and safe!
I will have some new anatomical dolls appearing in the Morbid Anatomy shop tomorrow, Friday March 19th, at around noon, EST!
Beatrice, Anatomica is 16 inches tall and lies in her own coffin. Organs are appliquéd to her torso using salvaged fabrics, using intricate handstitchery to create detailed arteries and veins. Johanna lies within a 17 inch rough-hewn coffin created from salvaged wood.
Johanna, Anatomica will also be available. She is 16 inches long and has intricate clay organs. Her hair is crafted from Alpaca wool, and she lies within a handmade coffin, which can be hung or lay flat.
prints
And for the first time, we are making some really lovely fine art prints of three of my favorite pieces. Gorgeously photographed by John Seven, these 11 x 14 giclee prints are on high quality archival metallic paper. The prints are really gorgeous- the metallic paper adds a depth to the dark tones and really emphasizes the beauty of the photograph and figure. We will hopefully be adding more prints to this collection soon. Please leave a comment below if there is a specific image/ doll that you might be interested in seeing in print form.
What’s coming
I will be participating in the Virtual Daughters of Darkness show, this April 23rd- 25th. I am working on a fairly large collection of dolls, all inhabitants of an imaginary stricken village. I will send you a sneak preview of who will become available mid-April.
Things are thawing here in New England. The days are getting longer and some of my favorite birds have returned. Right now the skies are gray and the rain is falling, washing away the last of the snow. As much as I love fall and winter, I do also enjoy watching the return of green and insects and birds and life. It also feels as if the blanket we have all been buried under for the last year may soon be lifted.
love and health to you all. xo jana
Can’t wait to see the new arrivals..you’re working is truly remarkable
